Kevin Escobar was born in San Antonio, is a lifelong resident of Northside ISD, and the son of San Antonio public school educators.
Kevin attended Scobee Elementary School, Stinson Middle School, and graduated from O’Connor High School in 2003. Kevin then attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Corporate Finance, Master of Business Administration in General Business, and Master of Science in Personal Finance.
After graduating, Kevin moved back home to San Antonio to begin his public finance career with the City of San Antonio. He worked as a Debt Officer in the Finance Department and was responsible for issuing over $2 billion in bonds for various capital improvement projects throughout the city. He joined Frost Bank in 2015, and as an Investment Banker in the Capital Markets department he specializes in bond issuances for school districts and municipalities throughout the state. He currently holds the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation and is registered with the following licenses: Series 50 Municipal Advisor Representative and Series 52 Municipal Securities Representative.
Kevin and his wife, Leana, have one daughter, Emilia. They enjoy family walks in the neighborhood with their dog, Mosie, and spending time with family and friends. Kevin is active in the community and enjoys volunteering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and The Conservation Society of San Antonio. He is also on the Board of Directors for his homeowners association and currently serves as the President.
Given his professional background in public finance, Kevin’s interest in becoming a part of the Board of Trustees for Northside ISD grew as his knowledge increased. With the solid foundation established by his parents who were educators, and the continued growth and development from superior public schools, Kevin knows that it is all these things that has helped him succeed. Kevin now wants to build on District 7's phenomenal success so it can be equally as strong for his daughter’s future and all the young minds in this community.
